What We Do
We are concerned about your child’s total health care. Good oral health is a major part of that. Establishing us as your child’s dental home provides us the opportunity to implement preventative dental health habits that keep a child free from dental and oral disease. We focus on prevention, early detection and treatment of dental disease. We also keep current on the latest advances in dentistry for children.
We recommend that children see a dentist for the first time on or around their first birthday. Pleasant visits to the dental office promote the establishment of trust and confidence in your child that will last a lifetime. Our goal is to help all children feel good about visiting the dentist and teach them how to properly care for their teeth. Our main concern is what is best for your child!
At your first visit to the dentist your child will receive a dental exam. During the exam Dr. Jodi and her team will work to develop a positive relationship with your child while assessing any additional dental needs. Most children will have a cleaning, fluoride to strengthen the enamel and radiographs at this visit. Children who are very young or apprehensive may require more individualized plans that Dr. Jodi would discuss with you at that time. If you have been referred to our office from another dental office or school-based program, you can be assured that on your first visit that we will do a thorough examination of the specific problems your dentist identified. Most children are not able to receive treatment on the same day. We will evaluate your child’s specific dental needs to make recommendations and arrangements based on their needs and unique personality.
